Find the Model Number and Official Manual
An error code can change meaning across product families. The full model number is the safest way to confirm instructions, parts and reset sequences.
Where to look
- Open doors and check the frame or door edge.
- Check behind removable user-access panels such as a lint-filter or detergent-drawer opening.
- Inspect the rear rating label only when the equipment can be reached without pulling, tipping or straining utility connections.
- For installed HVAC, water-heating and pool equipment, check the exterior data plate and do not open electrical compartments.
What to record
- Copy every letter, number, slash and suffix from the model field.
- Record the displayed error exactly, including spaces, colons, dashes and flashing-light counts.
- Note the country or market, fuel type, voltage and approximate installation date when shown.
- Do not publish or email the serial number; it may identify the individual unit.
How to verify the manual
- Start at the manufacturer’s official support domain.
- Search the complete model, not only the product name printed on the front.
- Confirm that the cover or product image matches the equipment family.
- Use the troubleshooting section and safety instructions for that exact document revision.
